Mighty Max Low

I wrote about this last month, Max is a kid who is battling with Leukemia. I was curious to see a follow up, how many cards did Max receive thus far? I found an article online and the count, as of April 6th, is 73, 716.

As of last Friday, Max was scheduled for a bone marrow transfer, his dad was the donor, I don’t know how the operation went as I cannot find anything online, yet, but I do know that cards are steadily pouring in.

Last sunday some of the children from my church made cards for Max and I was able to send it out this week. There is a video surprise in it with the use of QR codes. It was fun to do and a great activity for the kids.

If you have some time to make or purchase, do take that time to send Max a card.

Rubbish is rubbish

On my way to the train station, I walked down these stairs. I thought they were nice even if there was litter along the side of them, so I took a picture. Since no one was coming that way, I decided to take another one with a different filter.

The result was a little more artistic – to my eye. For some reason the rubbish became important, giving the photo a certain flair or realness. I’m not sure how to describe it, but this shot appealed to me more than the first because it hid the rubbish in plain sight and made it a part of the landscape.

As I looked at the actual stairs the rubbish was still there. It looked dirty, it was not artistic. A thought struck me; even though it looks pretty, rubbish is still rubbish that needs to be cleaned, no matter what filter is used to disguise it true nature.

Hamlet

I remember reading Hamlet in high school. After it was over the teacher showed us a play of Hamlet done in one minute, it was amusing. I’ve searched the internet in hopes of finding this video, but to no avail. Instead, I’ve found a few other videos that sum up the plot in 60 seconds or less, like the one above from Famous Last Nerds.

This lead to other videos, and finally to 60 Second Recaps, which is quite brilliant, they sum up stories in 60 seconds, not just plots, but the different themes that run through the stories. It’s fun to watch.

Now I want to watch The Lion King …
